Guest guest
Hi Folks, It's been a while since I've written, tho' I read the postings pretty faithfully. Jeff's doctor is trying to come up with some variations to Jeff's medicine " cocktail " . His symptoms are continuing to progress and worsen, especially the leg and joint pain, bladder and bowel difficulties, difficulty walking, difficulty with fine motor movement, overall body pain (he's on a duragesic patch now for the constant pain) Since he is an internist and not a neurologist, he asked me to write and get feedback on the following medications that he's considering. Has or does anyone have experience with the following: Sinemet Bromocriptine Aldomet Requip Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks, Maciejewski
Guest guest
, If they have not tried Sinemet, it is worth a try. It seems to help about 40% of MSA patients. Requip has been a problem with some on the list, Comtan has worked better for most people when used with Sinemet. But again that is an individual thing and some here do use Requipt. I am not familiar with the others. Two others that are used by a lot of people and may help are Baclofen and Amantadine (no one knows why Amantadine helps, but many use it). Baclofen is for muscle spasm if that is what is causing the leg pain. Sounds as if your doctor is trying to work with you. That is always good.
