Guest guest
I agree. Ask your surgeon about a water pik. I am four weeks post-op and I went to the OS today. He still says I can't use one! In the mean time, my gums are swollen and cracking, and bleeding when I brush. I am so upset by it! I have never had gum problems in my life! I couldn't even reach my back teeth for days. I was disguisted by all the film and tried my best with a baby tooth brush and watered down listerine. Well, he prescribed me Peridex and I will be using that, plus I am having my teeth cleaned next week, so I hope that it will get better soon ~Cathy Re: Wired shut - brushing and cleaning tips I am glad you are making it through and hope for a speedy recovery. My daughter is 16 and is going to have surgery on Monday June 14th. I bought her a waterpick. I was told this would take care of the food etc., left behind. Keep me updated on how you are doing. Good luck. : ) > Hey everyone, > I had upper/lower/genio June 2nd...back home now and trying to take > it a day at a time. Guest guest
Im surprised that your OS didn't have you use Peridex from the start. This is an excellent mouth rinse, after you use it a couple of days your bleeding gums should heal. However, if you eat right after using it you will have a very strange taste in your mouth. wendy Wired shut - brushing and cleaning tips I agree. Ask your surgeon about a water pik. Guest guest
The waterpik will indeed be helpful, but remember not to let your daughter uses it before the surgeon approves. Sometimes they worry that the stitches will be disrupted, so you may need to give it some time to heal a bit.
