My stuffing recipe has been passed down for (I think) 5 Generations now. It is unusual as it is mostly meat. Ground beef to be exact. It has a little bread in it..... But only enough to sort of make it all stick together. Oh yeah...it has onions too, salt/pepper and poultry seasoning. That is it! I cook the onions in a little olive oil, then sauté the hamburger until it is done....then take good old wonder bread (I know...it is a WONDER it is bread!LOL) and moisten it in water and use an old fashioned potato masher and mash the bread in with the meat and onions....put in Fridge for the night...then wrap in cheese cloth and stuff it into the turkey. PROTEIN!!!!!!! Very little carbs (I know...I could make it better with better bread, but it just wouldn't taste the same and I can't have my GREAT Grandmother rolling in her grave!) and awfully yummy.
