Guest guest
Hey guys, Just saw my surgeon this afternoon for my second post op appointment (I had surgery on June 2). I love the nasal sucking mechanism they have there. They pulled out some excellent stuff out of my nose. My dad was on the floor when he saw what was attached to the suction tube. The doc also gave me the OK to blow my nose again which is huge. The best part, however, was the OK to sleep on my side, without being upright. I was growing quite tired of sleeping on a 45 degree angle on my back (I know, I'm a wuss). I am pleased to report that he said I am " ahead of the curve " as far as healing goes. He took a couple of x-rays and I got to see the hardware store that they placed in my jaw. It's pretty cool to see the fracture, screws, and wire they put in there. He gave me the option to switch out my rubber bands on my own, but I opted to wait until the next appointment. The incisions are just to raw for me to be roaming around in there. He also indicated that I should be able to move onto " soft foods " by the next appointment (friday). If this is the case, i will just pee my pants. I know I'm a huge wuss, as most of you had to wait 4-6 weeks. But I'll take it! Anyways, sorry to make you read about my haps, but I've got nothing else to do, and since I can't talk very well as of yet, I can't tell anyone but you guys! All the best, and I hope the June surgery group is in good form. -AJ

Wow, two weeks are already on soft food.. Incredible! I will see my surgeon tomorrow morning, so perhaps (it's expected any way), I will come home with great news myself, like blowing my nose (please God..!!). As for sleeping on my side, I was given the go ahead from day 4... but it isn't as pleasant as it used to be. I mean, it's still painfull as the numbness is kind of pressurizing on this area when sleep on it, so... no joy there. Half of every nights, I come back to the living room and sleep up in the couch. Besides, when I can't sleep, I can still watch TV ;-) Ray
Guest guest
Ray, Hope things go well with the surgeon. Definately keep us posted. I hear you on the pressure issue while sleeping on your side. I feel the same exact thing. But it sure beats sleeping upright. Talk to you soon. -AJ > > Hey guys, > > > > Just saw my surgeon this afternoon for my second post op appointment (I had > > surgery on June 2). I love the nasal sucking mechanism they have there.
