Guest guest
Dear and Marcia... I am also a mom whose 15 year old son is having lower jaw surgery on June 16th. I would greatly appreciate hearing from other mothers/parents about how it goes. I have purchased the zip-n-squeeze stuff, and will look at getting the water pik. I think I have been much more anxious about keeping him comfortable and fed post-surgery...than he has even been about having surgery. We've had our final consult and impressions with the oral surgeon...and tomorrow have our final ortho appointment pre-surgery. Can't believe it's almost here. Guest guest
I just had reconstruction of the lower jaw on the 2nd and it is no fun!!!!!it is a tuff surgery..I wish both of you all luck. Some advice keep a close eye on him at the hospital!!! I was in ICU for 3 days I had an alergic reaction to the medication, it was the worst feeling of my life...being wired shut you are not able to talk...sad but ture no one pays attention to you. I had to write everything down....I started looking up for no reason I mean my eyes would role back..the nurse came in I told her " why do I keep on looking up " she said oh its prob cause your swollen from 4:00am till my mom could come in for visiting hours my eyes were rolling back...throwing up..it was bad!!When my mom saw me in the morning she was so scared she told the RN call the Dr. now...the Dr came and said he had never seen a recation to the medication the way I had. He took me off and changed the orders. now thanks to god I am doing so much better I saw the doctor today, he said I am doing great He had two other doctors in his office he showed them my xrays and they could not beleive that I had just had the surgery on Wednesday. Im glad its all over with..good luck to you and your son. The doctor said everything is perfect..I am very emotional...good luck > Dear and Marcia... > I am also a mom whose 15 year old son is having lower jaw surgery on June 16th.
