Guest guest
Hello there, I'm in the Air Force and currently in South Korea. I am 5 weeks post op from upper and lower jaw and chin reconstruction surgery. It has taken me 4 years to get this far. I began at Ft. Gordon, GA with braces and then pallet expansion surgery. I had to be relocated to South Korea and worried that I might not get this all finished before leaving. I found out that my OS was also going to Korea. He did my surgery at the Army hospital in Seoul. I am very happy with how things are turning out. I had a lot of swelling due to having 4 different surgeries at once and being under for 9 hours. My splint comes out on the 17th and I can hardly wait. I should be out of braces by the end of the year, same time I leave Korea and get to go home. It has been rough at points the last few weeks but I know that it is all worth it.
