Guest guest
You would have to fight my son over the fondue Cindy LOL he loves that stuff and made the request for it!! I am looking forward to it also, I can't do alot of breads but for some strange reason I can do french bread. I've been wondering if sourdough bread would be good too, as I can eat wayyy to much of that lol Dawn
Guest guest
This red-headed Tex-Okie (I'm a Red River Rat) HAS to have black eyed peas! I asked my grandmother many years ago why we had to have them, (even though I loved them. Just wanted to know WHY.) on New Year's Day. She told me it is to bring good luck in the coming year, and keep bad luck away. I told her I didn't know she was superstitious. She told me that she wasn't. But WHY TAKE THE CHANCE THAT IT'S TRUE??? LOL. I had to agree with her. After all, 20 years after surgery, I have maintained my goals with few complications that I can't deal with, I've done more than I'd ever possibly done without it, and had wonderfully good luck that far outshines the bad! I don't remember who it was that said she was getting a show dog soon. So am I! And I have to ask, do you think I'd have crammed my fat butt into tight jeans or English riding pants and tortured a poor horse into the ring in national or international competition at 315 pounds, much less WON? Never. Ever. Happy New Year to all, and good luck in the future. And EAT YOUR BLACK-EYED PEAS! Just a bite is all it takes. I'm not superstitious, but why take the risk that it's true? If all it takes is one bite for a year's worth of luck, I should be doubled up for next year, then! Guest guest
Hey, all traditions have to start somewhere. Sounds like a good year to start a new tradition. Personally, I am sticking with the blackeyed peas and ham thing. Lori Owen - Denton, Texas CHF 4/14/01 479 lbs. SRVG 7/16/01 401 lbs. Current Weight 302 lbs.
