Ann:

Here is the other one you wanted also. For Fred I got a baby crib pad for a mattress from Linen N' Things It cover's almost all his bed and it can be wash in the washing machine and then line dry.

Fecal incontinence can be a problem. Is it loose? If so, she may be

impacted as constipation is the "norm" for MSA. If it is table tennis

ball size hard balls, that is sort of "normal" for MSA.

Sounds as if you are getting to the adult "brief" stage. The ones

made by Depends and others look like large diapers and have the tape

closures, work well. For many years Charlotte had to use them night

and day. During the day, the Wal-Mart Assurance brand worked well and

4-5 per day worked well for daytime use (the Depends were better 3-4

would work, but much more expensive). Depends (their large was a bit

small for Charlotte) and the national brand in the blue package

(Assure?) were much better for overnight use. Poise pads added can

help.

There are disposable bed pads in a couple of sizes and here the

Depends are MUCH better and worth the extra money. Wal-Mart carried

and extra large pad which covered a lot of the bed.

Good luck with this phase of MSA.

Take care, Bill Werre
