Paralysis question

Hi All.

Let me preface this with a statement that I've already been diagnosed

with Autonomic Neuropathy. As such, this is not necessarily atypical

(I guess), but I thought I'd check here anyway.

The following is an entry from my journal today.

" More than a year ago, on more than one occasion, while working late

at night at my office, I fell asleep and awoke unable to move parts

of my body. I thought this was merely because I had fallen asleep

and my chair was catching me just right and pinching some nerves in

my neck.

Today, while taking a siesta (in an abnormally silent house), I awoke

several times (I guess answering the question as to how well I sleep).

I remember awakening and trying to move, and experiencing partial

paralysis. This has become so common in the past 9 months that

perhaps I just ignore it all the time. However, today was different,

as the bottome back half of my skull was numb – and I realized that

the pillow I was using had been bunched up at the base of my skull.

This reminded me of those episodes at the office. "

Just curious. Thanks for any input.

Don't worry. Not seeking medical advice here. I'll be sharing this

one with my doc (probably tomorrow via fax). But I am curious, and

have learned more about neurologically related stuff via this forum

than from any other source (including the docs).

Anyone else on here experience this? I'm sending off my MRIs to

Chicago so they can check for Chiari.

Thanks,
