Guest guest
Hello, I'm from Michigan. I was wondering how I can find a good Orthodontist in my area/state? Is there anything specific I might have to do or whom to see about that? Please let me know. Recently I posted another topic asking about prices for the operations. Can anyone give me a price range. According to 'Ray' who responded to me, he claimed for some in the U.S. cost around $40,000. Maybe some of you can inform me on the costs of your operations. Incase you're wondering, I have a small problem with my jaw. It needs alittle alignment. To get an idea, click on the link and scroll near the bottom to " for uneven jaw surgery. " Here is the link: http://www.midlandoralsurgery.com/Jaw_Surgery/jaw_surgery.html Thank you.

Hi again, it's me... " Ray " :-) Do you have a regular dentist? That's how I started. My dentist recommended the orthodontist, who in return recommended the surgeon. Since I had confidence in my dentist, and he had a well established patients list, I figured he must not give bad recommendations....! I used 'had' because my dentist retired in his tians office (it's 80 Km from where I live, or an hour away driving time). I since then changed dentist. But... the new one would also have recommended the same ortho. I was reassured! Ray
Guest guest
Ask your dentist for referral to an ortho and/or surgeon. Ask your friends whether they or their children have had ortho, or used an oral surgeon... Check with the dental school, if there is one near you. I had lower jaw surgery only, and no genio, and the hospital bill was about $10,000. The surgeons' fees were about $6,000. Insurance covered everything but a $38 suction pump my surgeon had me rent. I am not in an area of the country such as New York or Boston or Southern California, where I believe such things can be more expensive. I dunno about where Michigan is in that puzzle...
