Guest guest
It is amazing how we are with new relationships post-op. I think most of us are more confident, etc., at least I am. I never had problems getting dates being overweight but wasn't happy with myself and that made a huge difference in how I felt of course. Now for my cute story....2 1/2 yrs ago I met a great man online, personal ad, and we had 3 nice dinners together, became good friends and that was it, no romance. It just wasn't the right time for either of us, especially him, newly divorced and I don't think he was attracted to me physically because I was overweight, I'm not sure, I don't want to know! ;-) He is so handsome and such a great guy, I thought I'd never get a guy like that! Anyway, I ran in to him at a dance in September and since I had more confidence I went up to him to say Hi even though he was standing by another women whom I didn't know if it was his date or what, I didn't care! Hehe He was shocked to see me to say the least! At first it was because I looked so much different and better! We danced and talked all night (he wasn't with a date!) and have been together ever since. I think it was just the right time at the right place, fate, whatever! I don't care! He had asked if I was dating anyone and I said I had a " friend " who hadn't asked me out yet, but I was hoping he would. He called the next day and said he wanted to beat that other guy to the punch and asked me out for dinner that night. I told him at dinner all about my weight loss surgery, tummy tuck and all and we laughed about me being a cheap date! He's still very handsome, funny and wonderful and I couldn't be happier. He runs in triathlons and I think that keeps me motivated to look good, stay healthy and eat better. He's even learned more about protein supps from me! Ok, I've rambled enough, thanks for letting me share. Hugs, Donna M. Corpus Christi, TX RNY 6-7-01 241/133 P.S. Estela, you hang in there girl, you just never know who might pop up in your life! Guest guest
< > WTG, Donna! Hugs to you! Don't discount the fact that he knew you before WLS and liked you as a person THEN. So, now he has a gorgeous girlfriend, both inside and out! And it sounds like he admires you and listens to you, and appreciates what you have to offer. Congratulations! Ain't life grand?
