What is your supplement regimen: vitamins, minerals, protein, etc? How much

plain water do you drink daily?

P.S. Do you get tested regularly? What are the trends on your lab results?

This isn't the most pleasant topic to discuss, but I need to get some feedback.

Since I had wls in 2000 , I have had only a few episodes of vomiting and each

time it was more like a baby spitting up, no projectile, no bile or fluids mixed

with stomach contents. I have never vomited due to overeating, and God knows, I

have done that in the last 3 years. In addition to these two episodes, I went

through a stage of dry heaves but I have found the culprit of that, percocet,

which I am no longer taking. Well, this changed on Boxing Day, and I am

concerned that something isn't quite right. Twice in one day I ran to the

bathroom and hurled, and it wasn't just a spit up. It was like I vomited prior

to surgery, volume, bile, eyes watering, etc..... Also, it wasn't just after

eating something, so I can't pinpoint it on that. Can someone enlighten me as

to what is a " normal " vomit after weight loss surgery (if you can consider

vomiting normal *s*)

For the past 2-3 weeks I have had an overall feeling of just feeling crappy. I

have been eating way too much, am totally fatigued and weak. I even find typing

this email is taking effort. My hands are weak at the wrists, in fact, I have

felt that my right arm weighs about 20 pounds, lifting anything takes effort.

I am seeing my gp tomorrow and will discuss this with him, but he isn't very

knowledgeable about WLS, and I know there are lots of people here that are.

This could be merely a case of the flu, but truth be told, I have this little

nagging voice that is telling me that something isn't quite right. I have had a

recent weight gain, which I mentioned in a previous post, and if I didn't have a

transected pouch I would be thinking possible SLD because of the alarming

increase in the amount of food I can eat at one time. I can basically eat the

same amount of food in one sitting that I did before my surgery....I KNOW this

isn't normal. Any thought, ideas, input on this would be appreciated.

There is the possibility that you have developed a

fistula, which is a connection between the pouch and

stomach. Seeing your surgeon might be wise.

Good luck

Hi Sue, thank you for your reply. Hmmmmm you know, I have been wondering

that very same thing, and have plans to contact my surgeon tomorrow. I

haven't voiced it aloud to myself, probably for fear that it could be a

fistula...but, like I said in my original post, I know there definitely is

something that isn't quite right. Is a scope the only way to find out if I

have a fistula or not? or can it be determined from other tests. I don't

want to jump the gun and create a problem before I get tested, but if it is

a fistula, what can be done to correct it? I guess I have been hoping that

" tomorrow " I will wake up and feel 100% again. And, what exactly is a

fistula, and how does a person get one. I thought that was something that a

person got when they were a fresh post-op. Other than the increased ability

to eat LOTS of food, any idea what some of the other symptoms are? btw,

thanks for replying to my post.

This was my first thought, too. Your doctor will probably order an upper GI

series and/or an endoscopy. Good luck, and please let us know.
