Guest guest
I am so glad to have found this board!! I have an overbite and TMJ. I have saw two orthodontists so far, one saying I will probably need surgery and one saying an jaw repositioning appliance or splint will bring the lower jaw forward. I have no idea which to do, I am scared to death of surgery but yet scared that the splint will not be as effective. I would love to hear from anyone who has experience with this. I appreciate your help!! Thanks!

Guest guest
I don't mean to be a doomsayer, but I'm in extreme pain now almost two years after getting this surger(mine was botched and I am awaiting re-surgery to try to fix the problem). My advice would be: Do not get this surgery unless you are in pain now. It is a lot less successful than people realize. > >Reply-To: orthognathicsurgerysupport >To: orthognathicsurgerysupport >Subject: [Orthognathic Surgery Support ] Which way to go? >Date: Fri, 11 Jun 2004 23:36:35 -0000 > >I am so glad to have found this board!! >I have an overbite and TMJ.
