Remembering the past

I remember, about 7 or 8 years ago, stopping a guy for speeding. When he

handed me his license, I about fainted. He was an old acquaintance of mine

from high school. I had the most horrible crush on his older brother then,

and they were both very nice to me way back when. I have to admit, standing

there in the middle of the street, I had to screw with his brain...Went

through a whole questioning process that had nothing to do with speeding.

Finally, he looked at me. REALLY looked at me. Got out of his car. And

said... " Those eyes, I KNOW those eyes... " Looked at my name tag, looked at

me, looked at my name tag again. He said, " Mam, I don't know who you are,

but I KNOW those eyes! " I said simply, " My name was Jacque then. Not

J. Fleming. " This man, all 7', 300 lbs of him (not fat, just a very BIG

man!) picked me up in the middle of the street and started dancing. It was

SOOO funny! People were calling dispatch on their cell phones.... " There's

this GIANT attacking this little lady cop in the street... " He didn't get a

ticket. I still laugh today. We were both elated at finding old friends from

so far in the past, and so far from " home. "
