Guest guest
Good morning everyone! First, as usual, I've uploaded some more pictures this morning. Including my first attempt at smiling. Please, don't mention this to anyone... I look horrible ;-) http://www.pbase.com/carbone/surgery The swelling is down to 50% I think, based upon the side pictures. From face, it doesn't show up too much. But left and right, it does show quite much. I would have hoped for the swelling to be completely gone by now, but being honnest, I need to comfess I was warned it could take up to four weeks for it to completely disapear (or the portion that's visible on ones face). So, I'd say I'm progressing according to plan. Two days ago I stopped the Tylenol. So, since Saturday morning, I haven't taken any pain meds. And I don't feel pain anymore. Well, I do, but it lasts about 5 minutes then it's gone. Since I don't like taking pills when it's not absolutely necessary, I don't take Tylenol for a short burst of pain. I've kept on stabilizing my weight. I move less, eat more, and so far, I've management to keep only 10lbs off. I was to take a walk today, but it's raining. My hip hurting a little more this morning than usual, I'm a little scared of lack equilibrium and falling. I'll postpone my little venture outside the comfort of Home until tomorrow. I'm beginning to feel my real first craving for solid foods. So far, I was able to simply discard them by eating something, anything. But now... it just seem as if they won't go. I think that's a sign my body is now recuperating, and wants more solid stuff. I could be wrong. Patience, as I'm expecting to be able to eat soft food on Thursday when I visit my surgeon, for the 2nd post-op appointment. Also, I've discovered that the food that best fills my craving for solid food is V8 vegetable cocktail. However, the effect doesn't last for long. But, it's a start! I've done my first pureed vegetable yesterday. It wasn't liquid enough, and it caused a number of problems, getting the food stuck in my braces was amongst the toughest. I will keep on eating baby food (dillued with water, depending on brand, with added spices, for better tasting). I still have trouble sleeping. As my nerves are reconnecting, each time my face touches my pillowcase, or the sheets, I'm waking up because of the odd sensation. However, and I'm lucky for that, I can sleep during the day. So when I'm exhausted for not having sleep enough at night, I simply go get the needed rest right away. Well, that's it for now! Hope everyone in the June Club feels as good as I do. Because on the moral front, things couldn't be better! I'm happy to be on the other, and I realize it every passing day! Ray
Guest guest
Sounds like you are doing great Ray! V8 juice sounds good, I had forgotton about that. My wife bought me some " Organic Carrots and Greens " juice drinks from Trader Joe's and they are awful! They taste like somebody's old socks! Guest guest
I don't think you look horrible! Actually, I think you look pretty good (considering). Keep smiling!! It'll help work those muscles out and get them back in shape! Kim > Good morning everyone! > > First, as usual, I've uploaded some more pictures this morning. > Including my first attempt at smiling. Guest guest
Hey, I just found Bolthouse juices at the grocery store yesterday. They were on sale, so I picked up a couple to try. One was passion fruit, apple, carrot. I was very, very skeptical about the carrot juice, but you can't taste it. It's just sweet/passion fruit/sort of mellow. I give it a thumbs up. Guest guest
Great, the green goodness is my personal favorite, but I am going to truy the chai protein one next time I go shopping.
