Guest guest
I had my first MLD session this week, I will have one per week until the week of surgery (3 weeks from tomorrow, but whos counting!?!).Then I will have 2 sessions the week of surgery and my therapist has agreed to come to the hospital for a session after surgery (I will have to cover that out-of-pocket). My biggest concern was paying for this but I was fortunate to find a Physical therapy center that has Vodder Trained(this is a well known school for MLD) MLD therapists so my PCP was able to give me a referral for " therapy " without being specific and I got 12 sessions covered by insurance with only a $10 co-pay per session. I almost feel like I'm cheating, but that feeling doesn't last long. I will start taking Arnica 1 week prior to the surgery and my homeopath has suggested a tincture of fenugreek and thyme to control congestion problems. I will keep you all posted on my progress with the natural remedies if anyone is interested in going this route. Marsha P.S. The fringe benefit of MLD is great skin tone, my skin looks better from 1 treatment.
Guest guest
Hi Marsha, That's great, I'm glad you were able to get coverage for your treatment and also find a Vodder-trained therapist. Hope to hear more about how things go for you post-op. Is the therapist teaching you any exercises you can do yourself to keep things open? > I had my first MLD session this week, I will have one per week until > the week of surgery (3 weeks from tomorrow, but whos > counting!?!).Then I will have 2 sessions the week of surgery and my > therapist has agreed to come to the hospital for a session after > surgery (I will have to cover that out-of-pocket). > > My biggest concern was paying for this but I was fortunate to find a > Physical therapy center that has Vodder Trained(this is a well known > school for MLD) MLD therapists so my PCP was able to give me a > referral for " therapy " without being specific and I got 12 sessions > covered by insurance with only a $10 co-pay per session. Guest guest
She hasn't given me anything yet, but I will ask her next time, I'm sure she will. She is doing some therapy for my back as well to prep me for surgery so I am not in pain after being on the table in one position for so many hours, I'm kinda worried abouut thatsince I wake up grequesntly at night because I nee to change positions, she has given me some exercises for that that she told me to do twice a day and as close to the time of surgery as I can. I hope to get through this as painlessly as possible. Guest guest
Sounds like a good plan! I tried to solve some of my back problems too, less to deal with post-op. > > > I had my first MLD session this week, I will have one per week > > until > > > the week of surgery (3 weeks from tomorrow, but whos > > > counting!?!).Then I will have 2 sessions the week of surgery and > my > > > therapist has agreed to come to the hospital for a session after > > > surgery (I will have to cover that out-of-pocket). > > > > > > My biggest concern was paying for this but I was fortunate to > find > > a > > > Physical therapy center that has Vodder Trained(this is a well > > known > > > school for MLD) MLD therapists so my PCP was able to give me a > > > referral for " therapy " without being specific and I got 12 > sessions > > > covered by insurance with only a $10 co-pay per session.
