Guest guest
: God always is there. We may not always see him, but his there. We may not always hear him, but he does speak to us. We just have to look for his sign's. Fred often wondor's what God want's him to do . He know's he has some reason for all this, but doesn't know what it is. The other day I was going across the street to visit with my friend for just a few minutes. On the way over there I happen to see the man that lives next door to my friend . He waved , so I walked over just to say hi and to tell him he works to hard. ( he is painting his house himself). He told me he works the way he does ,because of Fred and I . He said here Fred is so sick, but he still is out trying to do what he can and there I am doing just about everything . He said that God put's sign's out in our life, and we just have to watch for those signs. He said God is telling him , how can you not work , when this man ( fred ) is so sick, but still will get out and try . He said that we were his sign from God and he knew what he had to do. He thanked me . I went home and told Fred what our neighbor had said. Fred cried. We may not always see what God want's from us, but in someones life, you are the sign from God. Guest guest
hi, my name is ann and my mom died 1 year ago from msa. It is hard for me to believe in god as we watched her suffer for 4 years. it was the worst? Why would god let someone suffer like this. ann from ny
Guest guest
Hi Ann, You might find it helpful to read the book " When Bad Things Happen to Good People " By Harold S. Kushner Some excerpts from the book are at this website: http://www.gurus.com/dougdeb/Courses/bestsellers/Kushner/BTmain.htm My husband and I found it helpful when his mother was ill with OPCA/MSA. Guest guest
Ann, All caregivers face this question at some point in the grieving process. The human mind must assign blame at some point, it is part of grieving. If you are questioning your brliefs, you are probably still blaming yourself also. Death is a part of life, unfortunately and God decided that it was time for your mom to be with Him. She is not suffering anymore and whatever religion you believe in, she is better off now. You need to move on in the grieving process and accept the fact that she is now gone and you and the family are still here. She would want you to carry on and take care of yourself and your family as she did with you. My personal religious views are that God WANTS you to think. I believe that God has a purpose even though it is not always clear to me. God created a beautiful earth and I have seem some of it like the Grand Canyon, flying up and down the east coast of Australia, the finger lakes of New York, etc. But how many people get to see all of it? God unlocked the secret of the power of the atom and we used it to kill people, yet we know it CAN be used to help people also. God healed people and every major religion preaches healing over killing in spite of man's interpretations which cause wars. Could God be using the destructive power of the atom bomb to force us to see how stupid war is? God gives a woman about 500 eggs when she is born and the average woman has 2 children. WHY? Did God want every woman to have 500 children? OR is it possible that God wanted people He created in HIS image, to use the eggs to cure themselves with the tools HE gave us? Are people getting this horrible disease just to teach them that we have the power that HE gave us so we can stop this ourselves? God gave man a logical thinking brain designed to think through problems and create love and understanding. I hope we all learn to use it as HE intended. My God sent his Son to teach us to love our neighbor as himself even if the neighbor was a hated person of another race. I think we need to respect the views of others and if they do not want a cure because of religious beliefs, then they can refuse it, but to refuse it to everyone and not even allow them the choice is NOT what my God intended. If we followed the laws of every religion, we would have no war, no blood transfusions, no medicines, no organ transplants, no dancing, no singing, etc. We need to think with the brain God gave us, and accept that even people with the same denomination do NOT believe in exactly the same things.. I hope you find peace and acceptance in your mom's death, she would want it. And that is just MY opinion, you are welcome to your opinion.
