insulin. This one is a 24 hr acting insulin that does not have the

Hi, Kim:

Welcome to this wonderful group. Thanks so much for the information. As of

yet, I'm not having to take insulin. My doctor wants me to go through the

diabetes training program so I will know how to give myself shots, etc. That

class starts next week. However, in the meantime I visited with Don's

doctor. (Don is Heidi's wonderful husband.) He has prescribed Starlix for

me, and I'm keeping my fingers and legs crossed hoping I won't have to go on

insulin. Thanks for the information, and I'll definitely keep you updated.

IF I have to go on insulin, I will be wanting more information about the new

insulin your son is taking.

As I mentioned, I went to Don's doctor and I just HAVE to tell the group this

bit of information. It was my first appointment with him, and I asked if he

knew much about RP. He said, " Well, I certainly know more now than I did a

year ago. " Yessirree, our Ms. Heidi had loaded him up with information.

That German is definitely on the ball and getting this info out to the

doctors. I liked this doctor very much, and will most likely switch to him

from my previous PCP after I finish the diabetes training. At least, he

didn't scare the socks off me then send me out the door with nothing but

gloom and doom forecasted for my future.

Again, Kim, welcome to this great group of people. They are all wonderful

and have helped me through some difficult times. I'm WAY behind on reading

my posts, so hopefully somewhere back in the previous posts you told us

something about yourself. If not, I guarantee you, our Heidi will be bugging

you.

I wish you well.

Love,

T.

I think being candid with children is a good idea. I don't find that you can

" curse " a chld by telling about true tendencies n the family inheritance and

by offering them lots of options. It acts s quite the oposite, as blessing

to be the best you can with what you've been dealt.

all best
