Guest guest
Sue: OK, what is kaputsi? I'm the resident Italian in the group. We do fish on Christmas and New Year's Eve. Personally I don't unless it's shrimp or crab, but noooooo, it has to be calamari, squingili and anything else that has tentacles on it. Thank God Tim will eat anything, my Italian aunt loves him. He just walked in and said to send him some kaputsi and he will try it. We had a real good looking guy knock on our door at 11:40 pm last night, does that count? Everyone since then has been mediocre at best. LOL Does that mean I'll just have an average year? Regina

Guest guest
Well, I probably misspelled it...but I know on this group there is no points deducted for spelling. (and Ceep is darn glad about that!) Kapusti is Polish sauerkraut. You start with burnt flower, add a head of shredded cabbage to a bag or jar of sauerkraut. Mix fresh garlic, onions, mushrooms, bay leaf or two. Usually we cook in the oven with a roast pork shoulder (deboned and seasoned inside) Today I'm doing it in a crock pot. I learned as a tot, when my sperm donor would say, " Com-mere, taste this " you better keep your lips together and go running the other way. OMG...I remember scrambled eggs and brains, mountain oysters, calamari in spaghetti sauce (why on earth anyone would want to mess up perfectly good spaghetti sauce with squid I'll never understand!) And then there was head cheese, kishka (which is like a blood sausage) and a soup made of ducks blood. Looking at foods like that...how the heck did I ever get to 500 pounds!! Still Lola....... good luck Sue: OK, what is kaputsi? I'm the resident Italian in the group. We do fish on Christmas and New Year's Eve.
