Guest guest
I had trouble pinning down the cause of my migraines also. My doc finally pointed it out to me...seems I get them when I'm under stress of some sort. Even good stress. I get them when I'm on vacation, enjoying myself....or when something is not so happy going on. I don't relate any of it to food either. I will get them in clusters, then I won't have them again for maybe a year. They are a strange phenomenon. Regards~ Jacque > : > > I started with the migraine headaches back in August. Guest guest
: I started with the migraine headaches back in August. That one lasted a month and a half. Two ER visits and one admission. Not one doctor ever mentioned anything about food except for the caffeine, chocolate thing. They finally went away and though I've had a number of them over the past few months ranging in length from 7 hours to four days, I haven't found any correlation with food. Have you noticed that something in particular sets it off, because I haven't. I kept a diary of what I ate just prior to the headaches and it was never the same thing or same composition of food that I had prior to the headaches. They just come on. I know this really doesn't help much, but maybe if you start keeping track of what you eat and note what you had just prior to the headaches you might hit on something. Many believe there is an " emotional " factor involved, stress, nutrient deficiencies, etc. Journaling is a good idea, but not just food. Keep track of what bums you out, drives you nuts, pushes your buttons, and how you feel. Might just find a correlation between certain daily occurrences and onset of migraine. Also may not be a bad idea to get your pH level checked. Hyper- acidity can create all kinds of havoc within your system. Carol A
Guest guest
I've suffered from migraines on and off for 20 some years. Back in '93 I got my allergies under control with nasal injections and RX nasal spray and my headaches disappeared almost immediately. A couple of months ago I again experienced a 2 day what I thought was a migraine. Along with the nausea, I also had a stabbing pain in my left eye, as if I had a knife stuck in there! I could hardly keep my eyes open from the pain. When I explained this to my PCP he told me it was a " cluster " headache and administed oxygen for 30 minutes. OH MY GOD!!! Talk about INSTANT relief!!!! I was in heaven!! The pain disappeared right there in the doctor's office. He said the oxygen helps relax the veins in the head causing the pain. Who knows, might be worth mentioning to your doctor :-) ((HUGS)) Estela in TX

When my hormons change alot, like in my last trimester of pregnancy, I would have the migraines almost daily. Thankfully, I only have the slight headache with the vision distrubance. Can't drive, do paperwork, or anything else until the dancing lights go away so I can see again. Guess I should feel lucky! Since my hysterectomy, I hardly get them anymore. Best of luck! Guest guest
I find the light show rather pretty and entertaining. It takes about 30-45 minutes for that phase to pass...then I can go on with my life as I am only left with a dull headache after and can see again.
