Guest guest
Hi All. Anyone know what causes a tightness in the chest. Sure feels like I have bronchitis. But it comes and goes. Got it now, but was okay earlier. May be here most of day, or not much at all. Ability to inhale also changes - but most of the time, I can only inhale for a couple of seconds - max. When this first set in (amongst all the other stuff) I would catch myself taking a deeper breath occasionally - which cued me in that I must not be getting much in there. I mean, inhale-wise - it's like my diaphragm has shrunk. Chest wise - it is more that it seems there is something else in there. Wouldn't you know though... Every time I see my internist, I forget to mention that (or I simply don't get to it on my " mile-long " list). Just wondering. Thanks. BTW - I've had CT Scans, and would imagine anything significant would have shown up there - but... that was a while ago and possibly before the discomfort was so strong. Thanks again,
Guest guest
, Start a list now and put your doctor questions on the list. Tightness in the chest could be anything, but it could be an early warning of coronary artery disease. It is possible to have other problems on top of MSA. See your internist soon on this however. Note that acid reflux is a common problem with MSA also. But it is better to be safe than sorry. Guest guest
HI BILL. I JUST WANTED TO LET PUT YOUR MIND AT EASE... MY FAMILY HAS A LONG HISTORY OF HEART PROBLEMS, SO WE ARE USUALLY CHECKED OUT PRETTY THOROUGHLY. PRIOR TO THE DIAGNOSIS WITH AUTONOMIC NEUROPATHY, I SAW A CARDIOLOGIST. HE SAID HE THOUGHT MY HEART WAS FINE - BUT THAT IT WAS UNDER STRESS. HE SAID THE HEART WAS NOT CAUSING THE PROBLEMS THOUGH - SOMETHING ELSE WAS - AND HE DIDN'T KNOW WHAT. BASICALLY, THE SAME STORY THAT EVERY DOC IN EVERY FIELD SAID. YEP - YOU'VE GOT PROBLEMS. NOPE - NOT MY SYSTEM. (UNTIL NEUROLOGY - WHICH JUST SAID YEP YOU'VE GOT PROBLEMS, YEP IT'S OUR FIELD - BUT NOPE WE HAVEN'T A CLUE WHY OR WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT. PERHAPS IT WILL RESOLVE ON IT'S OWN - OR AT LEAST GET BETTER TO THE POINT THAT IT IS MORE TOLERABLE. REGARDING MY LIST... I HAVE ONE EVERY TIME I GO SEE MY INTERNIST. SHE IS ALWAYS INTERESTED - GENUINELY, BUT THERE IS ALWAYS TOO MUCH ON THE LIST TO COVER. PERHAPS SOME DAY WE'LL HAVE ADDRESSED ENOUGH THAT WE'LL BE ABLE TO GO THROUGH THE ENTIRE LIST. I'VE GOT A DOOSIE GOING ALREADY AT THIS POINT. TRYING A DIFFERENT APPROACH THIS TIME. I'M WRITING IT IN A LETTER TO HER, AND WILL LET HER READ IT BEFORE I COME SEE HER, AND THEN SHE CAN DECIDE WHICH TO ADDRESS AND WHICH TO DEFER. BTW - TO DATE - ACID REFLUX HAS BEEN RULED OUT (WHICH IS INTERESTING, AS I HISTORICALLY HAD A PROBLEM WITH THAT. GUESS SINCE I'M VOMITING DAILY - MY BODY HAS DECIDED THAT IT NO LONGER NEEDS TO DO THAT TOO :-) THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT. CATCH YA LATER.
