Guest guest
Hi all - When I was on my liquid diet I " ate " very frequently - like every two hours. It seemed like that's all I did. I was either drinking Ensure or fruit juice or soup almost constantly. Well now I'm on a " no chew " diet meaning I actually eat meals with solid food now. I think I'm geting plenty of nutrition, yet I wake up in the middle of the night starving! I have to get up and slam an Ensure before I can go back to sleep. I think my body still expects to get fed every two hours. Does that make sense? I think it's time for me to get back onto a normal feeding schedule. Does anybody have any ideas how to do that? Guest guest
Hi Jay! I can relate to your body wanting to be fed every couple of hours. Once I started eating more 'real food' after surgery, I started getting hungrier and wanting to eat more often. All I can tell you is to try eating a small meal every few hours so your body knows you aren't going to starve it again by going back on a liquid diet. Once it knows it's going to be fed on a regular basis, you should slowly start getting back to your regular feeding schedule (or at least stop waking up hungry in the middle of the night) I eat 6 small meals a day and slowly tried eating a little more each time until I was able to eat 3 normal meals a day and not feel deprived in between. It did take me a couple of months before returning to my normal eating cycle though. Good luck! Johanne > Hi all - > > When I was on my liquid diet I " ate " very frequently - like every > two hours.
