> (a) Sleeping after surgery: Some of you did mention about " lazy

boy " . Could anyone give me a bit more information on this? I don't

know what it is about though. Is it a recliner chair? Or just a soft

pillow? I'm a side-sleeper, and is it a big deal if unintentionally

I sleep on one side when I fall asleep?? Any suggestion to get a

safe sleeping to the jaws? Appreciate if you could suggest me some

products.

Lazy Boy is a brand name for a recliner, the way Band Aid is a brand

name for an adhesive bandage and Jello is gelatin. Any recliner

will do. I slept on my side sitting up in the chair, and laying on

the wedge in bed later, with a small pillow propping my face the way

I wanted it. I think the pillow was a travel pillow from WalMart.

> (B) About food processing - I got a blender & juice extractor

already. Do I need to get a food processor as well? I just don't

know how the food processor comes in when we just need liquid. Any

suggestion?

The food processor was invaluable when I graduated to no-chew

foods. Once you're allowed to put real food in your mouth and mush

it around with your tongue, you don't need liquids, but you do need

your food pre-chewed, so to speak. I quit using the blender once I

didn't need liquids. Anything I wanted, I ran through the food

processor, and it made it mushy without making me drink it.

> © From your experience, for how long after surgery can drive?

Can't answer that one, I have no car.

> (d) I was told from my Orthodontist that my first visit to him

will be two weeks after surgery. I'm wondering if I can open up my

mouth for him to change my wires and add forces on my teeth & jaws?

My ortho wanted to see me immediately after surgery, but my OS

wouldn't let him look at me until day five. I went every week after

that. He didn't touch anything, he didn't change any wires, he just

looked and reassured himself that all was well. If things weren't

going the way he wanted maybe he would have asked the OS to change

the position of my rubber bands. I don't know. I do know he would

NOT change my wires until my OS gave him the OK, and that was not

until after my week 6 checkup.
