Guest guest
Dan, I got all my surgeries (check out my signature) covered by insurance....I was initially denied but won approval on 1st appeal . I wrote an 8 page letter (describing my particular problems and using guidelines from the ASPS position papers on why its reconstructive not cosmetic), had 7 doctor's notes (WLS surgeon, PCP, 2 different dermatologists, gyn doc, plastic surgeon, ortho doc) all documented medical necessity due to rashes or chronic back probs (I have a herniated disc). I also submitted nasty rash pics, receipts from prescription meds (rash creams, celebrex, pain meds)...I just bombarded them with info, they just couldn't deny me !!! oh and I was a royal PITA calling them every week until they relented !! Keep at them...don't let the bastards win !!! Good Luck !!! ´¨¨)) -:¦:- ¸.·´ .·´¨¨)) ((¸¸.·´ ..·´ .· -:¦:- Bonnie -:¦:- -:¦:- ((¸¸.·´* 12/15/99 Lap RNY Dr. Andrei 228/115 -113 lbs @ goal 11/19/01 Extended Abdominoplasty 3/29/02 Brachioplasty (bat-wing-ectomy) The doctor shall remain nameless cause I was less then thrilled with the results... 7/31/02 Breast Lift, Thigh Tuck & revision of Tummy Tuck & Arms By Dr. Zachary Gerut , NY A wonderful plastic surgeon !!!
