Guest guest
Rita, Hi! Sorry to hear about your headaches. Some are directly caused by RP. Others could be caused my optical migraines. However with the severity that you are having, please call you doctor. And have them evaluate you. RP can affect the cranial nerves in your head causing all kinds of problems. The ones that are affected the most are CN3, 7 and 8. All of which could explain the headaches. These three nerves run through the sinus cavity , hearing cannel and share the same space as the areas that are affected by inflammation in RP. Furthermore, it could be that the nerve itself is inflamed causing RP like symptoms. In any case. Any time you have a severe headache you should be on the phone to the doctors. The only way that they can positively help is if they see and test for problems. The only test that I am aware of for cranial nerve involvement is an MRI. Which I highly advocate everyone having one done at the onset of this illness anyway. As for the numbness in your arm and hand I would definitely have it check out. It may only be a pinched nerve and time most often will help that. However it could be related to the headaches and again needs to be check out. The other thing I was wondering, does your temples hurt with these headaches? Hope this helps. R.
