Guest guest
To Judy Whittaker, Carol and Rob, Don Summers, & Maril and any others who might send a message: Thanks ever so much. Some of the possible solutions are so simple--elevating the feet while on the commode (or when dizziness occurs) salt on the tongue etc (isn't there something about salt on the wing of a bird?) It all sounds good to me, but also very reassuring that Sam's symptoms are not that unusual. I don't know about tipping the wheelchair back--I'm not young and we both might end up on the ground--just as we both end up toppled on the bed at times when I am trying to transfer him--but we manage. The neurologist said salt and fluids too, of course. It is very hot here in the Philadelphia area, but our place is cool and the a/c doesn't always run--Sam is always on the cold side anyway--though he perspires at the same time. I get the practical advice from the group that the doctors don't give--if they even know it. Thanks a million to all of you out there in MSA land.
