Guest guest
Hey everyone! Remember me? Kathy from MI who had her surgery canceled by the hospital. Well, my doctor, Dr. Mustafa Hares, has found a new hospital, after 5 months of looking. It's St. 's-Oakland. It's a WONDERFUL place. Anyway, I had my surgery on May 15. Everything went well. I was discharged on Saturday, May 19. Went to my daughters and now I am home. Life is grand. Patience paid off. Kathy Bazzi 5-15 354lbs as of 5-25 -25lbs. forever

Guest guest
Dear Glenda, Love your posts! Lately they have been black background with purple print and very hard to read. Not being critical just thought you'd like to know. Love as always, Sue Marth

Haven't got any yet, but I'm sure it will get straightened out soon. No, no, no, I would not wish for a longer vacatiion. I am such a home-body that even five days away from home is an eternity. It was a great vacation, but even better to be home. I love my RUT! The house we stayed in was really nice and comfortable and I actually slept without my Ambien. That was a miracle. We were on a small bluff (about 50 ft.) overlooking the ocean. The whole front of the house was big picture windows, and there was a deck along the oceanside of the house. Beach access was down about 30 very steep steps down to a pile of boulders that you had to crawl down. Well, the rest of the family jumped down, while I crawled. But, I did it and that was all that mattered. All the houses were private homes, no hotels, so the beach was pretty much deserted. The nearest public access was almost a mile away, and not many people walked down to where the house was. One day I counted a total of 12 people on the beach. It was quiet, peaceful, and beautiful. Still, I am so happy to be home! I hope you are having a great day today! Love, Sharon

Are you job hunting now? It was nice at the coast! Tuesday when we arrived it was very, very windy--you know how it can get over there. But by about 3 pm it had warmed up and was beautiful. The rest of the days were just gorgeous. Lots of sunshine but cool. Perfect coast weather. It must have been hot here as our veggies were pretty wilted, even though our son watered them. But, hey, it is perfect here this morning. Cloudy and cool! It isn't going to be so nice for our church this morning tho'. It's one of our summer outdoor services, bar-b-que, etc. Doesn't look too promising though. Take care and thanks for the welcome! Guest guest
Sharon, Glad you had such a good time. Yes it was definitely hot here while you were at the coast! No I am not job hunting yet! I am trying to stick it out and see what is coming down the pike. If they let me go I can draw unemployment for awhile. If they don't give me what I have asked for then I will quit. The new guy isn't so bad but he is about the same age as my son. Doesn't know as much as they thought he did about management because he is always asking me something. But remember I am not management material!LOL I am just gathering info. for if and when I have to quit. It is cloudy and overcast this morning here too. I love it. Mike turned my fan off because he is too cold. Mike says that this weather is suppose to stay for a few days. I say let it rain!LOL Enjoy your picnic today! Maybe it wont be so bad without all the sun. Lots of Love Glenda Good Morning Glenda,What's new with you? Do you still have your grandson? How's that going? Well, maybe occasionally after months of it and I have to go grocery shop while it's pouring. But, all in all, I am just an Oregon girl and I love the rain. We didn't stay for the picnic at church. My grandson and I planted flower seeds a couple of months ago, and they are doing great. We have a tiny, tiny garden this year. Just tomatoes and bell peppers. Next year we are planning on making a raised bed garden with lots more veggies. They just taste so much better home-grown! Enjoy the planting! Where we went is called South Beach. It is about 7 miles from Newport which is one of our larger coastal communities. The Oregon coast is so beautiful because you have the ocean on one side of the highway, and forested mountains on the other side. In places we have huge sand dunes, and in other places miles of flat sandy beach. See, don't ever ask me about the coast. It is my all time favorite spot in the world! (next to my home) Come on over for a visit. Thanks for the welcome back. As much as I love the coast, it is so good to be home. Have a wonderful day, Sharon ===== __________________________________________________

Guest guest
Hey everyone, It's been quite some time since I wrote to this list. I underwent a bimaxillary osteotomy over Easter last year. Although the results have been good, it's not been without a cost. A week after I had it done, a vein went and burst in the roof of my mouth. It was not a fun time; the vein actually burst earlier and it'd been getting progressively more and more painful, until it managed to force its way out through the stitch line on the right hand side of my mouth. I almost needed a blood transfusion; fortunately, things started to turn around just in time. One more bleed and the surgeons were going to reopen my mouth and burn the c**p out of everything. I recovered and eventually got back into my swimmingŠ until one day at the pool I got a very nasty pain in my sinuses. The surgeon believes it might be a titanium screw that's come loose (which was holding the bone together after the surgery), and (fingers crossed) taking out the screw will fix it. My friends have had a great time making jokes about me having a " few loose screws " in the meantime. So, anyway, I'm all set to go into surgery in a little under 12 hours time. 9am Monday, Australian east coast. I'm confident (touch wood) that getting the screws out wont be as bad as getting my jaw broken (which is what happened last time) but any anaesthesia is to be feared. What's more, I really hope it fixes the sinus problem, so I can get back in the pool/surf. Thanks for listening, and speak to you all later. -- james

Guest guest
That all sounds really nasty, and I am so sorry it happened. Maybe all the tough stuff is behind you -- I hope so! Do they know why the vein ruptured? I don't remember hearing that one before... I have heard that taking the screws out is a pretty simple procedure. My surgeon, in fact, said so -- but I had lower only. This one may be tougher to access. Hope not, and that getting it out solves many problems for you, all in one easy swoop!
