Hi, All~!

Six and a half weeks and counting! Things are looking great. I went for a

cleaning last Thursday, and boy did that feel good! I am not sure if I would

prefer one before or after cleaning, but I am sure glad that I got one after all

those weeks of build-up.

The ortho has me in elastics and my bite is really coming together. It was kind

of disappointing that I didn't touch all around right after surgery, but I guess

I should just learn to trust these professionals when they say that it is okay!

Today I asked my surgeon about these small bumps on the side of my nose right by

my eyes. I thought maybe it was part of a bone that was stuck out due to the

swelling.... Come to find out, those are the plates! I was shocked! I didn't

think they would be up that high, but he showed me the x-ray again, and there is

one that is....

My husband marveled when I came home and told him. He asked, " How in the world

did he get it up that high? " I replied, " Well see, they took my upper lip and

stretched it up over my head.... " Remembering how swollen my lip was, it is

certainly believable that that is exactly how he did it!

Hope everyone is getting along great. So good to hear that so many of us are

coming through~!

Drink and rest lots,

~Cathy

It's coming!!!

Hey everyone!

This is again, from Nebraska. Well, I had my pre-surgery " mold " session

with my ortho this past weekend. He says the next step is to meet with my OS

this week and set a date. We are aiming for the first week in July. I guess

my question is, what kind of questions should I be asking my surgeon? I don't

know what I need to know. I have been reading all of the posts for about two

months now, but I guess I am still a little clueless (and nervous!!) I had a

dream about the surgery last night, and it just is starting to feel so real

now. I am starting to get anxious and question how I will be after the

surgery. Any help or potential questions for my OS would be greatly

appreciated!

Hello Cathy,

Thanks for dropping by! It's always nice to read a success story :-)
