Guest guest
Hello folks: My son is having trouble sleeping (we're now starting Day Five, post lower jaw surgery) due to what he describes as blood creating thick phlegm at the back of his throat, which he's having trouble getting rid of. I am going to call my surgeon when they open, but for now I am appealing to the wisdom of this group...which has been invaluable so far. I suggested continuing to drink a lot to keep fluids, and continuing his warm salt water rinses (which were recommended by the doctor and have been helpful) moving stuff out...he says that the more he drinks the more bleeding occurs. It's not major bleeding...he has described his tongue as being cut up a bit from wiring .. Let me know if you have any thoughts.
