Hi, I am wondering how long the hospital stays were for those of you

who had upper and lower surgeries. I understand everyone is

different, but just curious. Thanks, katie

Hi ,

I had upper/lower/genio - went in on a Wednesday at 7am and was out by

the next day, Thursday at noon. If you have the opportunity to stay

and the nurses are being helpful I would stay as long as you need.

Good luck!

I stayed four days, one more than excepted, because the morphine

had an adversial effect on me. When my body got rid of it, I was able

to eat, and leave.

I went in at 6:00 in the morning, had surgery (upper and lower) around 9:00 and

was out the next morning at 9:00.

I told my OS I didn't want to be there any longer than necessary! Hospitals are

for sick people :)

Hey , i had both upper and lower done and i stayed overnight in

the hospital. I was up walking around, breathing fine, and peeing on

my own. The doctors said i was doing well and it was up to me if id

like to stay another night or go home. Since i was sleeping too well

in the hospital setting (the give me the creeps sometimes) we all

came to the conclusion that id do better at home. But really its up

to u and ur team of surgeons.

Wow, you guys have been great! I am impressed and excited to hear

how many of you just stayed one night in the hospital. I have

discussed the vomiting issue with doc and will with anethes. on

morning of surgery. I too have been nervous about my 9 month old

head butting me. She is a bit of a wild one and super lovey, which of

course is all around your neck and face. Communicating and being

physical with her feels, at the moment, like it may be the hardest

part. Although I have to say, reading some posts, i am somewhat

surprised at the long road still ahead some people mentioned at the

six week mark. Thanks for the feedback.

I ad upper/lower/palatal split and some stuff done to my nose to

make breathing easier. I went into surgery at 7AM on first day, was

out of surgery at 1PM and then went home two days later (first night

in ICU, second in regular bed). They kept me primarily because they

were concerned about complications of breathing I think (which I

didn't have).
