Guest guest
Hi All, An " earthy crunchy " friend of mine whose husband is a homeopathic chiropractor suggested taking vitamin c prior to surgery and in powder form after surgery. He also suggested taking Arnica (sp?) which i'm told is a tiny pill that you put under tongue (if you can get it there! ) that helps with swelling and bruising. THAT sounds good to me. Has anyone else used it?
Guest guest
Hi , We've had a few discussion on Arnica on this site a few people have taken it. I plan to take it also along with a homeopathic remedy for congestion and anything else my homeopath recommends. I've used homeopathy before with great results. Try doing a search on " arnica " I remeber one 2-3 months ago. You can probably get tincture (drops) or tea if you don't want the pills. The pills will be sugar pills soaked in an arnica tincture and will dissolve very easily so I would not worry about it. It certainly can't hurt to take them if you surgeon doesn't object. you may also want to look into lymphatic drainage that will also help with the swelling. Your homeopath firend can probably explain what it is and recommend someone. Guest guest
I used quite a number of homeopathic remedies, including arnica, pre and post-op, but under the guidance of a registered homeopath. There's some links on homeopathy on site 2 at http://health.groups.yahoo.com/orthognathicsurgerysite2 Vitamin C was also recommended to me by my ortho, I think the dose was 10,000 IUs for a week prior to surgery. The only potential downside (and the way, according to him, to tell if you've taken too much) is the runs. I did MLD therapy, you can find out more about this on the geocities site at http://www.geocities.com/orthognathicinfo - click on MLD in the left hand sidebar. There's also loads of info and links on this site. > Hi All, > > An " earthy crunchy " friend of mine whose husband is a homeopathic > chiropractor suggested taking vitamin c prior to surgery and in > powder form after surgery.
