Guest guest
I bought the three Heartsongs books by Mattie Stepanek, what a joy to read by a young boy with a rare form of muscular dystrophy. They're wonderful. I had trouble moving on the bed, so we cut a piece of satin drape and put it across the middle of the bed - sure helps to position me easier. My little sitter stayed with me Mon., she looked as though she was only about 13. I'm sure our Great Dane out weighed her 25 - 30 lbs. I haven't had anyone with me, but she was very attentive and strong for her size. Jim had his sleep test and it went well, much better than the one he had several years ago. He bought home the breathing machine today. It was so funny, he put on the mask to show me then went in and scared the dog, pretty soon she came in with a toy peace offering. Yesterday was my check up at KU with the movement disorder specialist. Since my speech is so poor I typed an outline of my 'slide' the past 4 months, that worked out well. It was like a 'party' - my doc, a resident intern, a doc from Belgium and one from China. I'm lucky I feel well, the body is weak - treat the symptoms. The b/p is holding fairly good, the gastric stuff I'm curtailing with diet along with any bowel/bladder problems. Its working anyway. I can drop the Proamatine, and will try Comtan for a while. Oh well, the next appointment is 3 months, if I'm still on my feet, almost didn't think I'd make this one. The heat has taken it's toll, but we've gotten a little reprieve.
