Guest guest
Has anyone ever asked their doc about speeding up the process we are all going through? Like, If my doc called me and said he could operate tomorrow, I'd do it in a blink..,... Id be on the plane faster than a bat outta hell, I am meeting with the OS for the first time in July and the surgery is gonna be next summer, will I look dumb if I ask if they can speed up the braces and what not for a winter or early spring surgery? Also, what else should I be asking the os.. Im gettin some q's ready now... like how long I will be banded for, will they have to catheterize (sp) me, can I meet the anesthesiologist to calm my HUGE fears about that whole aspect, etc.etc.... any suggestions? Is there naything anyone out there wished they had asked their OS pre op??? Thanks all.. keep the good posts coming Kev kEV S kevininhalifax2@...> wrote: I completly feel this way, nothing can be more painful than 5 severly impacted wisdom teeth (yes, I had an extra one). And plus, I'm a guy, lower pain threshold!!! And being Mr. 's Law, what ever can go wrong wiht this surgery is guaranteed to go wrong... But like all things in life, there is little I can do about it, I have sprung the big bucks for the braces so it would be a waste now not to get the surgery.... And to agree with what somone else posted a while back, if all else fails, get the wacky backy ... jk... although... I think to myself, , you have a high threshold for pain, what are you nervous about? You gave birth to your daughter naturally, no drugs, if you can do that, you can do this. " Well, the thing is, when Grace was out of me, it was OVER, big capital letters, OVER, and yes, it hurt like hell, but that is the method i chose. I worry about the AFTER of orthognathic surgery. DO you know what i mean? i know i can handle pain, but i am wondering about the eating, the swelling, the hygiene, etc........ Did others feel this way? I had to let my bones (jaws) heal before I could have the surgery. But he or she is not gonna laugh at you for asking, I know mine didn't. He said it's a perfectly reasonable question, especially for something which last that long. Ray
