Guest guest
Hi , In response to your questions about blood abnormalities, when my sister was hospitalized last year, she showed an absence of leukocytes. This was very alarming to the the docs at the ER and on further study, it turns out she had aspiration pneumonia. After 10 days in the hospital, and lots of antibiotics, they came back up. I had no idea that she had pneumonia and I took her to the hospital because she had a horrendous yeast infection in her mouth. As to your other question, strange???? Guest guest
Hi All. Not that I've been gone. Not that I've been well. Just trying to get some things done. Anyway, saw new doc this week - homeopath. She drew some blood, and we got to look at it with her. Interesting things... For starters, my leukocytes just sat there. There were very few that were active at all. Most appeared dead. I also had some misshapen red blood cells. This is not the first time that has been noted. Also, an odd thing happened. Something she has never seen before. She (and we) looked at these slides while she did. When she got to one slide, she kept moving it around. Donnalee asked what she was looking for - if there was suppose to be something on the slide. The doc said - yes - she was looking for blood. It appears... my blood dies out at an alarming rate. It was dead - similar to what a normal person's blood would be after being out of the body for 24 or so hours. I double checked with her today, and she assured me that it was a fresh slide - and that it was my blood. After she mentioned that, I remembered watching her make the slides, so she was right. Anyone else hear of anything like this? Or anything that would relate to the other 2 issues? Thanks - and Hi to all! :-) Pablito (little - my dad is big )
Guest guest
THANKS FOR THE INPUT. HAVEN'T HAD A ROUTINE BLOOD WORKUP IN A WHILE. MONTHS. PERHAPS IT WOULDN'T HURT TO GET ACTUAL COUNTS. MY WBC COUNT HAS GONE AS LOW AS 2.8 IN PAST. THEY NEVER HAVE ANY IDEA WHY - JUST DROPS. WOULDN'T HURT TO KNOW - THOUGH THE BLOOD LEVELS NEVER SEEM TO TELL THEM MUCH - AS THEY NEVER FIT A PATTERN THEY'RE FAMILIAR WITH. JUST BE NEAT TO KNOW - SO THAT I CAN COMPARE. HAVE A FEELING IT WILL BE LIKE MY GLUCOSE MONITORING THOUGH - UP AND DOWN WITH NO PATTERN. AND... IT'S LIKELY TO EVEN SHOW MY BLOOD IS FINE (THOUGH IT HASN'T BEEN IN A YEAR :-) WHO KNOWS? NOT I. STRANGE INDEED - ALL OF IT. BUT, THEN AGAIN, THERE ARE MANY WHO HAVE SAID FOR A LOT LONGER THAN A YEAR - THAT I AM STRANGE :-) THANKS AGAIN. IF NOTHING ELSE, I SHOULD PROBABLY HAVE A BLOOD WORKUP JUST TO CHECK. I THINK THERE'S A LOCAL HOSPITAL THAT DOESN'T EVEN REQUIRE A DOCTOR'S ORDER TO DO A CBC. AS LONG AS YOU PAY - I GUESS THAT'S ALL THEY CARE ABOUT :-) PAUL > Hi , > In response to your questions about blood abnormalities, when my sister was > hospitalized last year, she showed an absence of leukocytes.
