How is the best way to cope with low grade contamination in the bladder

to prevent it form becoming a full blown UTI?

Will a low dose of antibiotic lead to immunity? Is one antibiotic preferred over another?

Barbara,

Never use long term antibiotics to prevent an infection. This how we got the "super bugs". I have been told by a urologist that the best preventive measure for stopping recurrent infections is to make sure the urine in the bladder stays acetic. There are several medications and foods which acidify the urine, one of the best is cranberry juice or tablets.
