I'm not sure about the women here and the UTI's, but fred's doctor put him on Nitrofuran MCR 50mg 1 x 1 aday to control his UTI's. His been on it for over a year. It seems to help he doesn't get them as often.

How is the best way to cope with low grade contamination in the bladder

to prevent it form becoming a full blown UTI?

Will a low dose of antibiotic lead to immunity? Is one antibiotic preferred over another?

My husband, Ralph has been interchanged with Cipro and Macrobid over the last two years, in that time he had to go to the emergency room once and they put him on a IV for a UTI and high fever and a few times the doctor has caught the infection before it was full blown and interchanged the antibiotics again. I worry too, with him being on it every night 250mg for prevention for the long term. Shirley cg to Ralph

Is that an antibiotic that he takes everyday to prevent them? I am

thinking I might have a bladder infection again, myself. I am going

to make the appointment tomorrow. It seems like I keep them regularly

also.
