Sherry, what dose did he start Allan at? For me I had to start slow (3

tablets on week or two and then upped to 4tabs the next week, etc til I got

to 7 tabs)

Folic Acid was given to me to help with the side effects and it really

helped. They wanted me to start on a Friday but I waited til Sun so that I

wouldn't be sick during the weekend. Also it worked better for me to take

them at dinner or bedtime so I would sleep through most of it. I tried to

divide the dose, half in morning and half in evening, but it didn't work for

me.

Each one of us is different and the reactions are different... Just kind of

trial and error. He might have no effects at all, which I hope is the case.

Good luck to both of you. Hope he is feeling better soon and you are okay

too.

hugs

My experience was much the same as 's, except

that I ended up on 8 tablets a week. Felt terrific

for several months, then the nausea set in.

is right about us all being different. I wish you all

the best. Sharon

Thanks

I don't know the dosage as he hasn't picked up the prescription yet.

Hi Sherry,

I started taking metho three weeks ago. I was told to start on 6

pills but I have been doing 4 and will work up to the 6. My doctor

is aware of my decision and he said they normally want people to

start with 6. But, all doctors do it different. I found that I had

no problems with the 4 and took folic acid everyday. The reason I

decided to start with 4 is because I have so many allergies and

adverse reactions to meds. This seemed to work out OK. I missed

taking it Sunday night so took it Monday night and today I feel

pretty decent (for a change). It will take about 6 weeks for it to

work, but I have already noticed some changes in the way my joints

and back don't hurt as much. Hope by the time I'm at 6 weeks that it

will take care of the vasculitis. I do take it at bedtime with

food. Love, Marilyn

Allan's doc is starting him on metho today. Any information you can

Hi Sherry,

I had such bad results with metho, so I can't say anything but bad. But I'm hoping it works better for him than it did for me.

Lu

See I should have just kept my mouth shut. :) I knew it and I didn't. sorry.
