In my surgeon's consent form there was a section where you had to

promise to have wire cutters with you at all times. And you had to

sign it. Funny. It didnt specify what circumstance you were

supposed to make use of them.

I threw up twice post-op. It's nothing to fear, especially if you

know it might happen. You won't have anything in your tummy but blood

that might have seeped past the tubes that are there to drain it. No

solid food that might get trapped, the blood or liquid will get

through the gaps between your teeth or at the back of your mouth,

don't worry.

I felt way better after I threw up. Make a helluva mess in my private

bathroom at the hospital, but the nurses came right away and took

care of everything, including helping me back to bed.

It doesn't happen to everyone. Ask your surgeon about the

wirecutters. The last thing you want is to panic and cut the wires

when you haven't been fixed with plates & screws!

I worried about that too but when I threw up, it was as if there was

absolutely no interference from my bands (which are basically like

being wired). I threw up alot of pure blood and it was the best

thing that I could have done, I felt great afterwards and had no

additional nausea.

Yes, Keep wire-cutters handy. Or use scissors or whatever, if it

comes to that.

But in the hospital, when the blood is causing troubles, you're

sposed to be empty otherwise, if you've followed instructions. So

what comes up is fluid, and not difficult to get rid of.
