Guest guest
Hi: I am glad Vera had some doctors to get in touch with. I am in the Salem,Or. area and Charmayne in the Portland area. We have not had a support group meeting for awhile now and I am going on vacation and will not be available until after Sept. 4th. Charmayne has a great web page for information. Her e-mail is charmayne@... I hope to try to have a support meeting after September if anyone is interested. My husband died April 25th and I am just getting myself back in order. I have quite a bit of information regarding In-Home Health for Oregon and feel you probably can find it in Seattle also. Medicare with pay for it if the doctor prescribes it. My husband had someone come into the home and bathe him and help him get dressed 3 days a week for a year and then for 7 days a week at the end. The trick is to find In-Home Health that will come in for just an hour a day. Ours was through Salem Hospital. Otherwise, some places have a 4 hour minimum. Respite was out of our pocket. I hired someone to come into the home one day a week for half of a day and then two days a week the last six months. Hospice can help in the last 6+ months if the doctors says the end is getting near. Hope this helps and would be glad to help with questions until next Monday.
