Guest guest
Hey everyone! I just met with my OS, and the date is set for July 20th. I am going to attend a workshop that the hospital provides for " highly anxious " people....that's me! I'm really excited about this...they give you techniques that actually make the healing period faster and easier. I do have a few questions, though! My surgery is at 12:30 in the afternoon, and it is expected to take 3.5 hours..when do you think I will come out of anasthesia? Will it be late in the night...or maybe even the next morning? Also, I have a huge fear of needles, and so what is the possibility of the surgeon using gas to knowck me out and THEN inserting the IV? Is this unheard of? Anyway, good luck to all those having surgery this week! I just want you all to know how informative this board is. I went in with 4 pages of questions based on the posts you have made, and my OS said I was so prepared that I could do the surgery if I wanted (I think I'll pass ) But anyway, you are truly a God send to those worry warts like me! Thanks!
Guest guest
They brought me out of the anesthesia pretty much right after the procedure. Apparently they took the time to remove the tubes and put ice packs on my face and stuff but judging from the clocks on the wall they didn't let me sleep very long after. I felt pretty good when I woke up too, not a bit of nausea, just thirsty. I don't know who to thank for the lack of nausea, my anesthesiologist, or my parents?
