Guest guest
Hi everyone, I am just starting on this process. I get my braces next month. It will be about a year before I will have surgery. Then more braces and then dental implants. I am glad I found this message board. I hope to learn alot and share my own experiences. I am nervous about starting this process at my age (53). But my orthodontist and surgeon both assure me that they treat my people my age. I had braces when I was a child and again as a teenager. They removed two of my permanent upper teeth because I had an overbite. Now I am having problems with my bite and my profile has changed over the years. I am hoping for good results from this. Guest guest
Hi Arlene - Your situation sounds similar to mine - I am 44 years old. I had an overbite resulting in a " deep bite " that was damaging my upper front teeth. I lost one of my front teeth as a result. I had braces for 19 months and then lower jaw surgery a couple of weeks ago. I still have about 6 months of braces and a dental implant ahead of me. It may seem like a long road ahead but the time goes by (all too) fast. It's nice to know that at the end you will have your dental problems resolved once and for all.
