Guest guest
Hi Everyone! Thanks to everyone for their words of encouragement. My surgery was this morning (Thurs) at 8:15. When I woke up around 10:30; I couldn't believe how good I felt, in comparison to how I expected to feel! I was back in my room by 11:30 with my mom. And she took good care of me, and kept me happy. I was able to go home by 7:30 that evening. So here I am at home, relaxing, and already able to get to my computer. I know the swelling is likely to increase tomorrow; but I still can't get over how easy my first day has been. I finally get to say it! I'm on the other side! Yeah! Good Luck to all of you with upcoming surgeries in the next month. carrie
Guest guest
what did you have done??? very odd that you'd be released without overnight observation. I would think they want to make sure they is no infection... i guess not... > Hi Everyone! > Thanks to everyone for their words of encouragement. My surgery was > this morning (Thurs) at 8:15. Guest guest
I had my lower jaw moved forward approx. 6mm & up, at least that was what I was told prior to the surgery. I do have to see my OS today at his office. My doctors came to check on me around 6:30 in the evening, and told me as long as i could get down a certain amount of liquids and felt up to it that I could go home. I think today when I visit my OS he will take off the " mummy wrap " but in a way I think it feels secure to have everything wrapped tightly together. The numbness is definitely strange, but manageable. Some feeling is already coming back in my lower lip. : ) carrie > > Hi Everyone! > > Thanks to everyone for their words of encouragement. Guest guest
, CONGRATULATIONS!!! The surgery isn't the hard part, it's the recovery from the anethesia. On Day 3 now I have 100% of my energy, have only lost 3 pounds, and am eating most of what my family does, just blended up. Last night was mashed potatoes with gravy and barbequed beef. Went down as a thick paste, but mmmm.. still had all the flavor! Keep up the ice and liquids and you'll do great! Dammit > Hi Everyone! > Thanks to everyone for their words of encouragement.
