Guest guest
Rose, You didnt say how much you weighted to start with and that makes a huge difference. People who have 2 hundred pounds to lose as opposed to one hundred lose a lot faster. I started out at 261 and didnt lose make the 50 lbs loss until the 4 month mark. Now its been 9 months since my surgery and Ive lost 80 lbs. Some of us just lose slowee than others - it doesnt mean you are doing anything wrong. Thats why this surgery isnt a magoic bullet or the easy way out like some naysayers claim. Hang in there! ~ami~ Lap RNY 5-13-03 261/179/130 In a message dated 2/17/2004 12:14:44 AM Central Standard Time, hotlilchick027@... writes: hello I am about 2 1/2 mo post op and although I cant eat alot I am not really losing as much as i thought i would. Guest guest
Rose, You are ahead of what I was at 2 and half months and I have now lost 126 lb. in 11 months. You are doing fine. It just may be too many calories from the soft food stage and the pounds will start to drop soon. Hang in there girl. A. B. LAP RNY 3/22/03 Dr. Steve Weinstein, MD. Guest guest
Rose, you didnt say what your starting weight was, and ask yourself when have you ever lost more than 33 lbs in 10 weeks?? i think that is really great..you cant go by what others tell you...remember when it comes to weight loss some stretch the truth about what they lost in how much time. i mean just look at my drivers license that says i weigh 240...HAHAHAHAHA...keep up the good work you are doing great...and remember the less you have to lose to begin with the slower you may loose. 10-21-03 332-260-150 LapRNY

Guest guest
Rose instead of drinking juice try drinking crystal lite and see if that will help you to start losing. I really think that you must be getting too many calories and the juice may be it. A. B. LAP RNY 3/22/03 Dr. Steve Weinstein, MD. Guest guest
I will tell you that the first food I received post op was on a hospital tray. And it was just plain nasty. Chicken broth, which was waaayyy too salty. (And I am a salt-eater, more than I should be.) Puree of green beans, the same. Actually, I challenged the two dietitians who came up to " instruct " me to take a taste, and see whether they could down it. Both declined the offer. Better to have your own stuff, if you have someone who can bring you Ensure, Boost or even decent chicken broth! Cammie > , > > All your medication will be liquid. Codeine syrup, Tylenol, etc. > Nothing to worry about for that. And at the hospital, your medication > will be intravenous, with a button to inject more (but with the > impossibility to overdose yourself, rest assured). > > Drinking & eating... I was left a tray in front of me and that was it. > There was a straw instead of a knife and fork, along with a syringe. > > I was eating with a syringe, so what I did is pack the syringe with food > (Juice, Jell-O, soups, etc) and injected it in my mouth, a small quantity > at a time. Swallow. Repeat as much as your patience will allow :-) > > Ray
