Problems after 6 months

I'm at about 6 months or so after my uppper/lower surgery and now my

upper left jaw has begun to swell a bit. Everything has been fine

up until now. My jaw is tender and begins to ache quite a bit when

I chew. Anybody know what could be the problem? I'm out of town

for the summer and rather immobile so it will take a few days to get

everything cleared with the insurance so I can see a new doctor.

Don't want to have to go to the ER for nothing.

Could it be something like mumps? I'm 22 and a bit old for the

illness, but I'm not at all familiar with it to know one way or the

other. It sure is annoying.

It could be an abcessed tooth, or some other tooth problem. You

don't necessarily need a trip to an ER, but probably a dentist who

can take x-rays. I don't know how insurance works for that.

Could it be an infection in one of the screws? My surgeon told me

this was possible
