Guest guest
Hi All. I've got another vision question. Bill, you don't have to worry about those siestas - seems they come on - on their own anymore. :-) Anyway, it was after one of those - when I woke up disoriented (which was different in itself - because I usually know where I am - when it is - and all that jazz)... I looked up at our white ceiling - and was quite surprised to find it filled with black spots. I would estimate that 35 to 50% of it was covered with black spots. This continued for a good 15 to 30 minutes. I've never had this before - and just wondered if others have had it. Just checking. Vison has been freaking lately anyway. Neuro-ophtho has diagnosed me with migraines and some sort of permanent visual distortion - caused (he suspects) by a migraine-induced TIA. Anyway, difficult to explain the distortion. But basically, it's like looking through multiple transparencies stacked atop each other - with a bit of space inbetween - where the letters of each word are on differnt transparencies. Plus, I see things move which don't. Thought I was hallucinating - but doc said it was my brain trying to interpret what it was perceiving. I see a spot - like a screw head - and since my distortion causes it to appear to move - my brain interprets that as a spider. Carpet rolls and moves - also certain patterns of clothing really freak out my eyes. I basically see 3-D - even when the stimulus is only 2-D. Well, life is certainly interesting. At least I can't complain about getting bored :-)
Guest guest
, I have the same vision problems. I guess it is caused by what your doctor said. Our brains are trying to interpret what we see. I have looked at something far off but not so far off I shouldn't know what it is and for the life of me it may take me a while to figure out what I am looking at. I then ask myself how in the world did you not know what that was when you first looked at it? I have even asked someone if there was someone around me what is it that I am seeing. I don't do that often because I think I freak them out. I have seen things move also and they don't or imagine it is something it isn't. It is a scary feeling for sure. May I ask you do you have problems with your speech also?
