and Chuck - I know a couple of people with

lipomas, but they do not have rp. One of them has

been prescribed doxycycline to see if that will reduce

them. I think they are only a problem if they are

pressing on something. I believe they are quite

common. Hope yours both improve after treatment. Good

luck with the surgery Chuck, and the shots .

Love Liz

Hi Folks,

Lucy here, I had two big (size of golf balls) lipomas removed from both

sides of my back, just below my waistline. I was told that I could have

more in my leg, but they never gave me any problem. Those in my back hurt

at times when I would lean back in a chair or against something.

There is not much that I have not had and most of the things seem to have

something to do with RP, so I will let RP have the credit for it all!

Love and Prayers, Lucy

Ellen, lipomas are fatty tumors.... I just found out I have them in both

feet. They are wrapped around the nerves and muscles.... Chuck just had

abdominal surgery to remove them from his abdomin. We were wondering if

there was any connection with these and RP. If they are in my feet, I was

wondering if they were any where else. LOL Guess time will tell.

Sorry for writing a book.

So glad that you and are part of the group... Can't wait to know you

better

Thanks , yea next week I need to go see the pcp and need the yearly gyn thing done. Like I said before I'm going to walk in there nude and have a total workup done. When was the last time a doctor did a full physical? I've been a real b----ch lately. Chest hurts, my dermatitis won't go away, its been months and my throat is full of mucus that won't go away. I'm not sleeping good at night again, salivate all night, sweat, and need to change pillows. Aren't you glad you asked??? Ha.....Love as always...Sue Marth

Hi l,

Did you get my email saying that I had 2 lipomas the size of golf balls

removed from my back (waist area) in 1980? or so. I think I still have some

in my thighs and maybe shins.

I need to talk to you sometime. Let me know when it is a good time to call.

Love and Prayers, Lucy

Hi Ellen,

Lucy here, when I had the lipomas removed, the Dr. held up what looked like

a handfull of " chicken fat " . That is exactly what it looked like!

From what I remember the Dr. said, lipomas are made up of fatty deposits

that form fatty tumors (lipomas).

Hope this helps some.

Love and Prayers, Lucy

Dear , ain't we a pair. I think the frustrating thing is your not really sick, sick but just wore out from all of it. I need to go to pcp next week and we'll see what he says and I'll let you know. I put myself back on 10 mg of pred to see if that will help so far no luck. Didn't sleep good again last night, doesn't help the fibro, so tonight I'll take my Tylenol PM. Do you also have that dry cough? Talk to you later, Sue Marth

Sue, I never sleep..... Only get about 3-4 hours a nite... even on the c pap

and with medication... I would love to know what a full 8 hours is like...

Don't you just hate it... Really does a job on the fibro I agree... Think

that is why I'm just not good for nothing. Yes I do have a dry

cough....Thought it might be from the post nasal drip...Who knows...... going

to make an appt with my gyn... due for a mamogram and I'm going to have him

check my hormones again... Think they are still way out of wack... Driving my

family nuts. LOL Remember ladies......HAVE YOUR MAMOGRAM!!! THIS IS

VERY IMPORTANT......

Well, enough of the lecturing....hope you get to feeling better soon Sue..

Be sure to let me know what's wrong with us. LOL

It depends on your age. I should have had another one done 5 years ago. I'm 53 so need one again. Also, I'm a believer in family history, mine is very low for cancer. You need to decide. Any of my aunts who had female cancer were in their 70's. Mother never had it. You need to decide. Even if you are small breasted that doesn't matter. IMost insurances will pay all, wish I had some, so go for it. Better to be safe than sorry. Sue Marth

Dear Lucy, thanks for the information. I have these lumps above my knees. Plus directly above them is a spot where I can push on it and there is nothing there. That's me just weird. When hubby gets home from work I'll have him strip and check out his knees. LOL. Your great...Sue Marth

Hi Sue M.

Lucy here, My Dr. told me that they were Lipomas. Yes, they had bothered me for eight to ten years, since I was in High School. They were in a location where each time I would lean back in a chair, my back touched the back of the chair and the pressure on the Lipomas (knots) in my back caused pain. Of course, nobody knows for sure that it is a lipoma until they are removed, they just appear as a moveable knot, lump or raised area.

I hope this helps some. Let me know if I can be of any more assistance.

Love and Prayers, Lucy

Re: lipomas

Dear Lucy, how did you know they were tumors and was it a big deal to remove them and why do you need them removed?
