Guest guest
It can and has happened. But if you are really in pain, (and can't talk!) get someone to call your surgeon's office early tomorrow and tell them. If it has to be, then you'll have to put up with it. The elastics for me, blessedly, were a relief from pain in the joing. But sometimes something isn't working the way it should, and a few simple changes can keep the work going but make you more comfy, too. I'm a believer in hollering when you hurt. If you gotta hurt, then I'm a believer in putting up, to keep what you've gained. But no point, if it doesn't have to be. Also ask whether you're allowed to remove the bands, clean things up, and replace them (a hemostat, available at nurses' supply places where they buy uniforms, or maybe at hospital/home health places) can make the changes easier. sorry you're hurting. (Ask, too, about using a Waterpik to clean up in there. If you can, it can help a lot. Biotene mouthwash, too. Or dilute other.)
