Guest guest
I need some advice here. Went on a picnic Friday and about an hour after I got home I got very sick, stomach cramps, diarhria. I still have it. Have been drinking Pedilite and jello since then. Still can't eat solids. Tried Imodim, that hasn't helped and may have made it worse. Tonight is metho night and I don't think I can handle it. Any suggestions. Should I ask the doctor if they can do a metho shot this week? One other person at the picnic also got this. Could be food poisoning. That person is better, but I'm not. Suspect the prednisone will make it harder to get over this. Suggestions would be most appreciated. Tried drinking carrot juice, that hasn't worked. Marilyn
Guest guest
You should probably try probiotics. Go to the drug store and get Probiotica. The package says to take 1 a day. You can take more than that as there are no known adverse effects of probiotics. (they are in cheese and yogurt). Taking 2-3 a day will help diarrhea and may kill off any bad bacteria you may have picked up. Probiotics also have the effect of reducing inflammatory responses from the immune system. Guest guest
Marilyn :-) You poor thing!! 's recommendation for the acidophilus sounds good to me and I know Dr. Mercola at www.mercola.com recommends taking an acidophilus capsule every half hour or hour as long as you have diarhrea. I think it's also a good idea to put in a call to your doctor. Maybe antibiotics are in order, and my guess is that he/she would want you to wait on the Methotrexate. You might have to remind the nurse that you are on immune suppressants and that you need to have the doctor's attention. Take care, lady. It sounds like you have a nasty case of food poisoning. Keep us posted and take care. hugs, Connie
