Guest guest
Welcome back ! I have missed your cogent comments. I trust all is well. I really appreciate your thoughts on " Re: An Update on Terry's Dx " - copied below. The concept of " mental freezing " does seem to fit some of what I see. And, it seems to be worse if there is an emotional sensory overload for Terry. For example, if I raise my voice in frustration over her lack of a response to a query from me - which may be due to the freezing, then she really locks up emotionally. while I don't have a lot of experience yet with the new doc's insights, I believe they are going to be very helpful from him as he is both incisive and simple in his portrayals. We had a good indicator yesterday of his communication skills when we visited Terry's GP. She commented that she had received a very well written report from Terry's new nuero on Terry's condition and really appreciated the insight. Keep in mind the GP has had no prior contact with the new nuero. Thanks again for your support. I appreciate it coming from you. Indeed, this situation can be overwhelming at times. PS I do understand the many feelings that goes when the young ones go off to college. Message: 3 Date: Tue, 20 Aug 2002 21:33:40 -0400 Subject: Over 522 messages - Sheesh!! Well, I've been missing in action for quite some time. This has been a very, very LONG month. I may survive! Actually it's been VERY busy due to work and family life (first child went to college). So, my apologies if I did not answer. I doubt I could contribute much more than what everyone else could contribute. But I have been thinking of everyone. Regards, =jbf= B. Only when I reached extreme fatigue and overload (from external stimuli), did I encounter a small experience with the mental freezing. And it was extremely frustrating an unpleasant. I knew I wanted to formulate a thought, but was simply unable to pull together all the pieces. For me a nap seems to help. That both Terry, and you, , face this together must be somewhat overwhelming. As a result, I extend my prayers for Grace and Peace to both of you.
