bone from head or hip for bone graft

My surgeon gave me a choice whether he should take the bone from head

or hip? He said the bone from head is less painful,quicker recovery &

better in quality. He said there are 2 layers on our skull they take

the bone from the outer layer. Not sure how that works..

Anyone had bone taken from there head???

I had a bone taken from my leg, just below my knee. I have heard that taken

from the hip, is extrmely painful and recovery is longer.

yeah, I had bone taken from my chin...I wish my surgeon had taken it

from hip. 14 months after lower jaw surgery, my chin still feels stiff

(really annoying) when I talk because of the present scar tissue...hip

is more painful, but if I could turn back time, hip would be

definitely my choice.
